FEAR AS THE ARCHITECT OF POWER IN EUROPE

Updated: May 5

Fear is never an end in itself but an instrument of domination. It is not enough to manage politics; one must govern perception, shape the reality of the masses, and dictate what must be accepted as truth and what must be relegated to heresy. Whoever controls fear controls the narrative, and whoever controls the narrative has no need to resort to force to obtain obedience. Europe, once proclaimed the cradle of civilization, is now governed by instilled panic. We are urged to prepare for wars we did not seek, to sacrifice our freedoms for climate crises imposed from above, and to incur debt to sustain a bureaucratic machine that strips nations of their sovereignty. We are not invited to think; we are commanded to obey.

FEAR AS THE ARCHITECT OF POWER IN EUROPE

The Dialectic of Submission

Each era has its discourse to legitimize power. In ancient times, divine will was invoked; today, the urgency of crisis becomes the justification. A dialectic of submission is imposed:

  • A problem is created: economic crises, pandemics, conflicts.

  • An enemy is designated: the irresponsible citizen, the dissident, the rival nation.

  • An unquestionable solution is offered: financial control, total surveillance, rearmament without real strategy.

The solution never dissolves the problem but rather reinforces the structure that created it. Debt grows, security fades, and quality of life deteriorates, all while greater sacrifice is demanded. Europe is no longer governed from its capitals but from power centers that treat politics as a technocratic game, detached from the popular will. Governments have ceased to prioritize national interests, merely administering orders from higher levels. It is no coincidence that every major crisis, from the 2008 recession to the pandemic, to military integration in the post-Ukraine era, has only deepened dependence.

War as the Engine of Servitude

Europe’s rearmament is not the product of a genuine defensive strategy but the result of aligning with externally imposed logics. Sovereignty is invoked, yet in reality, structures are consolidated where decisions are made far from the will of the people. We are sold the idea that security can only be achieved through absolute submission when true protection arises from self-determination. The essential question is: what does security mean in a world that perceives its own citizens as the greatest internal threat? We have been conditioned to believe that perpetual crisis is the norm, that peace is merely a pause between sacrifices, and that freedom is reduced to choosing among pre-designed options. Europe is not only fighting on the military front; it is at war with its own spirit, with its identity. The greatness of a civilization is not measured by its ability to comply with external orders but by its determination to forge its own destiny.

Today, that will has been systematically surrendered.

Breaking the Illusion: Europe at a Crossroads

None of this is inevitable. History is not an immutable river nor a runaway train dragging us toward a predetermined fate. It is, above all, struggle and confrontation—the manifestation of a will that resists imposed limits. Every structure of domination endures only as long as it is accepted without question, but consciousness can fracture what appears unbreakable. Europe is not condemned to submission. What is presented today as an unchangeable reality is, in essence, a fabricated narrative—a construction designed to paralyze the spirit of a civilization that once believed in its ability to shape its own fate. Fear is not man’s natural condition; it is the resort of power when all other forms of legitimacy have been exhausted. However, consciousness can awaken. The real question is: will Europe continue playing the role of a mere cog in a system that does not belong to it, or will it find the courage to reclaim its position as a subject of history?

FEAR AS THE ARCHITECT OF POWER IN EUROPE

From Submission to the Will to Power

The nations that forged Europe were not built by bureaucrats or crisis managers. Europe is not just a map in a Brussels office; it is the streets where its citizens struggle to make ends meet. It was shaped by peoples who did not wait for instructions to claim what was rightfully theirs. Freedom is not a gift from power but the expression of will. That will has been stifled, reduced to a faint murmur by those who want citizens to live under the illusion of choice between pre-designed options. True power does not lie with those who manipulate fear but with those who defy it. It does not belong to those who demand sacrifices in the name of crisis but to those who refuse to play the game of submission. Power belongs to those who, even from distant offices, still dare to ask why. Europe does not need more obedience pacts disguised as stability agreements nor directives that condemn its citizens to precarity in the name of supposed higher causes. It does not need speeches where security is confused with submission. What the continent requires is to remember its true identity: a spirit of defiance, of greatness, of ambition, and of self-determination. As long as that spark of rebellion persists, as long as there remains even one voice that refuses to accept decline as destiny, there is hope. The future is not written; only those who have surrendered their right to shape it believe otherwise. Europe must not ask for permission to exist nor wait for orders to defend what belongs to it. Will is the only possible act of redemption. It is time to awaken, to raise our voices, and to exercise the power to determine our own destiny. Enough of being mere pieces on a board imposed from outside.

Freedom, defiance, and self-determination must once again be the weapons with which Europe forges itself in a world without fear or submission.
